Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was started in 1948 by Dr.K M Munshi. The initial objective was to propogate Indian Culture and its Unique value systems by spreading value education. Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan is running over 375 Educational Institutions. In keeping with the objective of providing quality education, Bhavan and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike have joined hands to set up a school on Krantikari Mahakavi Sarvajna Road in Srirampuram, which strives to blend the heritage, culture, values and wisdom of ancient India with constantly changing needs and aspirations of modern society. It seeks to develop every student into a self-reliant, socially useful, disciplined and ethical citizen.

The school, situated in a locality mostly inhabited by people of lower income group, will strive for the purpose of making education available to all children irrespective of class, creed and religion.
